Lakehead is one of the few universities to offer research opportunities at the undergraduate level. With its 23 research centres, they focus on regional issues and build strong community partnerships. You can find many of their nursing students doing their placement across the street from Lakehead, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, the largest hospital in Northwestern Ontario.
There are plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and spend time with friends outside of class. University encourage you to enrich your post-secondary experience by getting involved in student-run clubs and associations, recreational sports, or the student-run centres across campus. University 24-hour security staff is available with many services to make you feel safe whether you are studying or living on campus.
