Queen Mary, University of London

Queen Mary is one of 24 leading UK universities represented by the Russell Group, that are committed to maintaining the very best research, an outstanding teaching and learning experience, excellent graduate employability and unrivalled links with business and the public sector. With around 16,900 students, 3,800 staff and an annual turnover of £300m, we are one of the biggest University of London colleges. All of our students graduate with a University of London degree, recognised internationally as a guarantee of quality72.

RANKING:

We have invested in this principle by systematically recruiting the best academics in their disciplines from around the world. As a result

  • The most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008), The Guardian ranked us 11th in the UK for the quality of our research.
  • We are also ranked 8th in the UK for highest graduate starting salaries (The Sunday Times).
  • The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2012-13 place Queen Mary in 145th place globally, and 21st in the UK.

LOCATION:

Based in a creative and culturally diverse area of east London, we are the only London University able to offer a completely integrated residential campus, with a 2,000-bed award-winning student village at our Mile End home. So you enjoy all the benefits of a campus university, while being only fifteen minutes from central London by tube, and walking distance from the Olympic Park.

SUBJECTS:

We teach and research across a wide range of subjects in the humanities, social sciences, law, medicine and dentistry, and science and engineering.

  • The Medical College of the Royal London Hospital (now part of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry at QMUL) was Englandís first medical school when it opened in 1785.
  • The first Aerospace (then Aeronautical) engineering Department in the UK was established at Queen Mary in 1907.

CAREERS:

The career services at QMUL are a part of the Careers Group, University of London. They not only provide Career Guidance but also organise various career events for all the students. Queen Maryís London location and proximity to Londonís main financial districts have enabled us to develop successful relations with employers like Bank of England, The HM Treasury, Goldman Sachs, Liquid Capital Markets, Ministry of Defence, Ford, Bentley Systems, Airbus, LG Philips, Rolls Royce, JP Morgan, Unilever etc.

CAMPUS FACILITIES:

Queen Mary offers outstanding students a stimulating, supportive and high-quality learning experience, with teaching inspired by our world-leading research. We have also invested more than £250m in new facilities over the last fifteen years to offer our students an exceptional learning environment. This is reflected in our high levels of student satisfaction. In the most recent National Student Survey (NSS 2012), 87 per cent of our undergraduates expressed 'overall satisfaction' with their time here Ė thatís above the national average and the best among the leading research universities in London for the second year in a row.

QUEEN MARY INDIA ADVISORS:
