Keele University

Our Vital Statistics

Keele University is the UK largest campus set in over 670 acres of beautiful Staffordshire countryside approximately 2 hours north of London and 1 hour south of Manchester. There are approximately 10,000 students with approximately 1300 coming from over 120 countries outside of the European Union. Degrees are taught through three Faculties: Health; Humanities and Social Sciences; and Natural Sciences. This year Keele was ranked 29th in the UK according to the Sunday Times rankings and ranked in the top 2% of the World’s universities. 85% of our research is considered to be of International importance and 11% is World Class. In 2012 Keele was ranked 5th in the National Student Satisfaction Survey and 5th for Graduate Employability which is a great achievement especially in an increasingly competitive jobs market72.

Undergraduate

Dual Honours Degrees

At Keele we operate a dual honours degree system which means you can choose two subjects to study at degree level. Some students choose cognitive combinations such as Business Management and Marketing but others create something a little bit different such as Accounting and Criminology or Geology and Music. There are more than five hundred combinations to choose from so choosing what you want to study can be the hardest part! These courses are the same length as a single honours degree.

Single Honours degrees

For students with a vocation, one of our single honours courses may appeal. The courses on offer include: Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Law, Management, Medicine, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy.

Foundation Programmes

Not everyone has the right subjects to in Class XII to enter their course of choice so to help you prepare for degree level study, Keele offers a range of Foundation programmes taught on campus either by the University or by our partners StudyGroup.

Study Abroad

The opportunity to study abroad is one that should be taken but how about the chance to be an international twice over? The Study Abroad unit at Keele is well established with over 100 partner universities across America, Australia, Canada, Europe, Malaysia and Singapore. Undergraduates at Keele can study one credit bearing semester in one of these institutions without extending the length of the degree.

Postgraduate

Taught Courses

Keele offers a range of MA and MSc courses enabling students to change discipline or to specialise in their subject area. These courses are of 12months duration and are classroom or laboratory based. The MA International Business and MA Management offer students the chance to apply for a 10 week internship as part of the course giving students the opportunity to put some of their classroom learned knowledge into practice within a local organisation. Other popular courses with Indian students are Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology, Global Media and Culture, Human Resource Management, International Relations and Physiotherapy.

Campus Life

The campus is well equipped to make your time with us as fun, safe, friendly and productive as possible. We have a range of accommodation within easy walking reach of the centre of campus and you will have your own internet enabled study bedroom and can choose either private or shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Living on campus is a great way to make friends with other students from all over the World! When you're not studying in the library or eating in one of many campus restaurants you might want to get active in the sports centre, pick up some groceries in the supermarket, have your hair styled in the hair salon, dance the night away in the university nightclub or participate in one of 80 clubs and societies including Model United Nations, Capoeira, Animanga and Circus Skills! If you get sick there's a campus health centre with 2 doctors, several nurses and a dentist so you'll be well taken care of. There's a regular bus service that will take you into the city for some serious shopping and our International Student Support team run a programme of social events and trips so you can explore the UK and experience some of our traditions like Bonfire and Fireworks night.
